i understand that we are in the month of january still, but it has snowed again.... to deal with the fresh powder i have been doing a little shoe therapy online to help with with this brutal reality of coldness.  these are some of my faves that made my day brighter... hope you enjoyed.

well hello there is exactly what everyone would be thinking when struting around in these bad boys, i feel like it is easter meets freshly divorced hottie... no?! maybe it is just the catholic upbringing in me, ha.

weekend getaway

hello lovers

david and i traveled to birmingham, AL this past weekend - perfect timing - louisville was getting plummeted with snow the day we were leaving.  david had to push my car at least 50 yards up a hill (small one at that) just to get out of our neighborhood.
this is a small collection of photos from our weekend getaway (forgot the camera at home), enjoy....

(silvertron's black bean and roasted tomato burger and
vegetarian french onion soup)

(silvertron's pork shanks with gremolata over cheese grits)
we stumbled upon this restaurant located in Forest Park, an area in birmingham located close to UAB... silvertron is a must experience stop either while traveling too or through birmingham.  the name comes from the television store that originally called home to the location.  the black bean and tomato burger was mine...A-MAZ-ING... there is nothing like a freshly made black bean burger with chunks of beans, tomato's and other goodies in the patty.  now on to the vegetarian french onion soup - (i am a pescetarian if we must be politically correct in labeling on eating habits) i have a soft spot for vegetarian french onion soup, it is like anything backless, i must have it; and as expected this soup did not disappoint.
david, my pork loving asian ooohhed and ahhhed over his lunch, devoured every bit.  i did snatch up a bite of the cheese grits, which turned out to be a gritty and cheesy sensation on my taste buds.

need i say any more?!

(late 1950's feather turban hat)

thanks to my fabulous girlfriend, natalie who recommended zoe, a vintage store located in Forest Park as well, was uber fun - they have everything from shoes, to bags, jewelry and the clothing selection was time consuming... everything from fur (great prices) to 1970's wide legs pants (unfortunately way to short on me) and dresses galore.  i spotted this hat pretty much within the first 5 minutes of being in the store, wasn't quite sure how i felt about it and then i tried it on just as we were finishing up, needless to say it came home with me.  cannot wait for it to make its grand appearance soon out and about.
on another note for men, they have a great selection of jeans - david walked out with three pairs of paper denim for an amazing price, other than that i didn't get to see what else was going on in the men's department, i was rather over whelmed with all of the fancy items for women.

not sure what this little guy is made of or who the artist even is, just thought he was too cute

any recommendations for our next trip down to birmingham, AL?

another fun filled day in the snow... there is something about train tracks that makes any picture way cooler, haha.  or maybe we are to lazy to venture further than across the street to look for something more interesting.
julia and i decided that the blizzard and the 12 degree weather was no match for our bare legs.  the backless purple mambo i am rocking is one of my absolute favorites in Dressing Room, the color is uber intense purple and it is backless... which if you dont know me that well, i crush hard for anything with fabric missing around the back... there is nothing sexier!!

hello loves

this past thursday myself and couple of my favorite ladies, Julia and Jacqueline from the Dressing Room, a local gem in louisville decided to have a little play date in the snow with some of the goodies that you can find at their boutique.  there is something about the snow that makes us want to play dress up, drink bubbly and then walk around looking for nice spots for a quaint moment to capture.  these two dresses are crazy beautiful, each fitting a little differently on the body than the other...but none the less both jaw dropping gorgeous!! both would be perfect for one of the many local balls held here in town, or dressed down a bit for just an amazing night out...

where would you wear either one?

my top five

(armani prive)

(calvin klein)

(zac posen)

(versace)

(calvin klein)

hello loves

obviously there is a trend in my top five, backless... i must admit anything backless demands that my plastic be swiped.  i can not help this sweet fashion addiction of mine.  i find that there is nothing sexier than a woman's back, especially when it is an unexpected revealing of skin like with emma stones' calvin klein dress and ann hathaway's
i must admit i had a hard time with where leighton meester's burberry prorsum dress fit in my top five.  i am a huge fave of her, and her style on and off the set of gossip girl.  i loved, loved the dress, it was elegant and the color was so whimsical as well, it just didn't have that little bit of a wow factor like the dresses in my top five.  i am having a battle within myself for even saying that, just because she looked amazing, which is why i had to acknowledge her as well, even though she isn't in my top five.

hello loves

with the new year still being fresh most people have the mind set "out with the old and in with the new"... me on the other hand, i struggle with disposing items in my closet (you never know when something will be needed).  i do though enjoy going through my closet and accounting for what i may have to much of or too little...
i am a girl who views jewelry as wearable art - and my wearable art collection is in some need of fluffing.  these jaw dropping statement pieces are just a couple that i am wanting to add to my collection... some are more on the simple side, while others are a little more loud.

what are some pieces you will be hunting down this year?
